Risk Evaluation Questionnaires

We are very aware of the significant workload and operational burden that the completion and submission of the AML Risk Evaluation Questionnaires (REQs) has placed on credit unions. One of the key areas of uncertainty for many credit unions is the technical requirement to convert the completed REQ Excel file into the XML format required for submission to the Central Bank of Ireland.

To assist credit unions and help reduce this burden, O’Dwyer Power can facilitate the conversion of REQ Excel files to the required XML format.

This service is available to all credit unions, including those who do not currently use our CoreTrack transaction monitoring platform. There is no requirement to become a CoreTrack client in order to avail of the XML conversion service.

For existing CoreTrack clients, the process is straightforward. Users simply log in to CoreTrack as normal and upload the completed REQ Excel file directly within the platform for validation and XML conversion.

For non-CoreTrack credit unions, we will provide a secure facility for uploading files directly to us. Once uploaded, the file will be validated against the XSD validation rules before being converted into the required XML format. The completed XML file will then be made available for secure download.

To help provide further assurance and reduce uncertainty around submission acceptance, we will also complete testing through the CBI test portal in advance to help ensure that the generated XML files meet the required validation standards.
